Renting is 3 Times More Expensive in Nashville

Renting in Nashville is at least 3 times more expensive than buying a house. Most apartments and property rental agencies have upped their income requirements for all Nashville renters. All adults on the lease are now required to have an income of at least 3 times the rent in order to qualify.

When buying a house, you don’t have such stiff income requirements. You are not required to make 3 times your projected mortgage payment. You just need to have a debt-to-income ratio of less than 40 percent normally.
